Ann Steckel

Instructional Technology Consultant

MA Educational Technology, Classroom Technology

Specializing in design that incorporates technology into the curriculum, she is especially
interested in community building and collaborative Web 2.0 applications;
specifically Second Life, Flickr, Twitter, mind mapping software, blogs, and
podcasts. Day-to-day she supports the use of the Blackboard LMS as well as
Wimba audio software and consults with faculty in preparing their course
materials. Prior to coming to CSU, Chico, Ann was employed in NJ as a K - 12
educational technologist and high school mathematics teacher. She has been
named a NJ Governor's District Teacher of the Year, and has also received
the NJAET State Technologist of the Year Award, NJ State Board of Education
District Website of the Year Award, and NSPRA District Website National
Award of Excellence. She holds master's degrees in educational technology as
well as classroom technology, and is credentialed in both mathematics and
English.
