Laura Kling is art director for the IMC Graphic Design Studio. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in fine arts from CSU, Chico in 1975 and received a Master of Arts in communication design for electronic media in 2004. Previously, Laura owned and operated a graphic design studio as well as a graphic rubber stamp business. She has also worked as designer, production manager, and office manager for a company specializing in architectural etched glass, and has taught design and production courses at CSU, Chico. She joined the IMC in 1990 as director of the graphic design department. Her duties include management and art direction for printed and electronic design projects. As art director, Laura designs and produces a variety of projects in conjunction with staff and student designers and works with a wide range of vendors. She has been recognized for her contribution to the California Prison Industry Authority Web site, which won the grand prize and gold award for user friendliness from the California State Information Officer’s Council in 1998.
